BC Boosts Healthcare with State-of-the-Art Hearing Equipment
The School of Rehabilitation at Boitekanelo College has recently acquired state-of-the-art hearing equipment from Asizwe Hearing Solutions, a renowned South African-based company. This valuable investment will enhance the quality of rehabilitation services offered by the school, contributing positively to community healthcare.
Training on the effective use of the equipment was delivered by the co-founder of Asizwe Hearing Solutions, Ms. Vera- Genevey Hlayisi. The comprehensive training session was attended by the School of Rehabilitation team, as well as staff members from Occupational Health and Safety and Nursing. This collaborative training approach ensures that all relevant personnel are well-equipped to utilize the equipment efficiently.
The newly acquired equipment will be instrumental in facilitating hearing screenings conducted by our students and enabling advanced diagnostic assessments by audiologists within the team. This initiative not only enriches the learning experience for students but also enhances the scope of clinical services provided by the School of Rehabilitation.
Looking ahead, the School of Rehabilitation is excited to announce plans to open its clinic to the public for hearing testing services. This move will further strengthen community engagement and improve access to essential hearing healthcare services.
