BC Backs Naledi Charity Run to Advance Community Health and Wellness
We joined staff and students of Naledi Senior Secondary School and the Fearless Fitness Running Club for the Naledi Charity Run, which raised funds towards the school’s upcoming Annual Prize Giving.
Leading the run as Chief Runner was our Provost, Dr Tiro Mampane, who returned to a school that holds personal significance for him as a proud Naledi Senior Secondary School alumnus.
His participation added a personal dimension to the occasion but also reflected a broader message for the learners who took part: where you begin does not determine how far you can go. Through dedication, purpose and continued growth, young people can develop into professionals and leaders who contribute meaningfully to their communities.
The run also provided an opportunity to promote healthier lifestyles and bring people together around a shared purpose. Physical activity is an important part of wellbeing, and community initiatives that encourage people to move, connect and support one another contribute to healthier communities.
For us, supporting the Naledi Charity Run is part of our commitment to community development beyond the classroom and campus. As we prepare future healthcare professionals, we also recognise the importance of contributing to the environments and communities in which they will eventually serve.
Our relationship with Naledi Senior Secondary School is strengthened by this shared connection between education, wellbeing and community. By supporting initiatives that create opportunities for learners and encourage healthy living, we are able to contribute in ways that extend beyond healthcare education and training.
