Sip & Paint Creates Space for Students to Unwind, Connect and Create
The Health and Wellness Unit hosted a Sip & Paint experience to give students a relaxed space to step away from their usual academic demands, express themselves creatively and connect with one another in a different setting.
Throughout the session, students immersed themselves in painting, conversation and quiet reflection, taking time to create, enjoy the company of others and find a moment of calm within the demands of student life.
For students preparing for careers centred on caring for others, the experience carried particular meaning. Healthcare professions require compassion, patience and the ability to remain present for people through some of their most vulnerable moments. Developing those qualities also means recognising the importance of making space for personal wellbeing, reflection and connection.
The Sip & Paint session forms part of the broader student experience at Boitekanelo College, where campus life is shaped not only by academic and practical training, but also by opportunities for students to connect, participate and experience life beyond their studies.
Creating these moments contributes to an exceptional student experience by recognising students as people first - with a need for community, creativity and spaces where they can simply enjoy being together.
