About This Course

Guidance and Counselling within school settings serve as a supporting function through directing school activities aimed at enhancing learners’ psychological adjustment thereby enabling them to perform to the maximum of their capability.The programme is designed to equip professionals with knowledge and skills in delivering guidance education and counselling services in schools and other settings.

The programme uses an experiential learning approach where learners are exposed to real-life situations. Learners will to be offered an opportunity to gain competency skills through attachment at various sites where they can learn to provide psychosocial services and assessments to clients.It is well-tailored to provide a broad understanding of human development and growth, mental health, psychological assessment and diagnosis, life skill education and a wide range of experiences in counselling. It targets individuals with a keen interest in starting or developing their careers in education and human services.
